THE STORY OF MANGOSTEEN
Mangosteen is widely grown in Vietnamese provinces such as Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai. Therefore, having a wide range of choices for our mangosteen product input, we can choose the sweetest, the tastiest, the highest quality fruits for our factory.
The cultivation of mangosteen is an effortful process: mangosteens are picky about elevation, humidity and require annual rainfall of at least 50 inches. They need rich organic soil to thrive and must be sheltered from strong winds and salt spray to survive. Mangosteens should be spaced 11-12 meters apart and in soil enriched with organic matter 30 days before planting. The tree needs a well-irrigated site; trees should be planted in partial shade.
Our factory has a strict quality test for choosing input fruits: the mangosteens must have fresh, green stems, a pleasing aroma, attractive flavor, and have firm rinds, while avoiding the ones with cracks, bruises on the skin, and unattractive smells. In the harvesting and transporting process, dropping the fruits from high places must be avoided to keep attractive appearances before delivering these fruits to our factory in air-free styrofoam boxes. Those boxes must be able to resist shock while also ensuring maximum aeration.
Mangosteens in Vietnameses fields are rich in many beneficial nutrients: vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B9, folate, niacin,… Therefore, many health benefits are contained in this fruit: promoting weight loss, supporting sugar control in blood, improving the immune system, maintaining healthy skin, reducing the risk of inflammation, increasing heart health, brain health, and digestive health.
